Maintenance Director

MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR – Greenwood Care, Evanston, IL

Salary: $45,000 to $60,000, depending on experience.

M-F Schedule, with one weekend day of work per month required.

Will be on call.

• Maintain all electricity and plumbing.
• Maintain all appliances and machinery, including laundry equipment.
• Maintain and document the schedule of hot‑water checks in residents’ rooms, baths, showers, and all general hot‑water sources.
• Check and replace air filters.
• Supervise all repairs, construction, renovation, remodeling, and routine maintenance of the building.
• Schedule with contracted companies and observe periodic/annual inspections on fire alarms, fire extinguishers, ANSUL systems, and generator.
• Be available to troubleshoot emergencies and urgent repairs.
• Work a monthly rotation as weekend supervisor as part of Department Head responsibilities.

• High school diploma or G.E.D preferred.
• A valid Illinois Driver’s License.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, painting, general repairs, heating, and air‑conditioning in large facilities.
• Life Safety Code experience a plus.
• Minimum of three to five years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a long‑term care or other health‑care facility highly preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving and trouble‑shooting capabilities.
• Personable and professional with residents, families, and staff.
