About The Team

Responsible for the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Medicaid agencies. Day‑to‑Day duties include working on tickets assigned to the current sprint as well as production and UAT support for our clients. Involved in agile methodology and a SSDLC (secure software development life cycle) to move tickets to various stages until completion. Works very closely with other internal teams including QA, Product, DBA's, Systems Infrastructure etc.

The Role

This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross‑functional software products. This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques.
  • Good understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles and multiple data storage subsystems.
  • Hands on experience in development languages including but not limited to:
    Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
  • Proven research skills and knowledge in industry best practices in development.
  • Knowledge in using and developing applicable tool sets.
  • Ability to interface competently with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources along with the knowledge of test‑driven development.
  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components and complete complex bug fixes.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.

  • Resolve complex technical issues as necessary and train entry‑level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles.

Compensation

Primary Location Base Pay Range:
Evanston, IL $100,100 - $166,800. If performed in Illinois, the base pay range is $100,100 - $166,800. If performed in Chicago, IL, the base pay range is $104,800 - $174,700. U.S. National Base Pay Range: $95,300 - $158,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
