Position: ARTILLERY REPAIRER with Security Clearance
Duties
* Performs a wide variety of repair, rebuild, modification, inspection, and testing of self-propelled artillery, towed artillery, turret mounted weapon systems, and associated mechanisms.
* Works on complete artillery pieces or a wide variety of major components, complex assemblies, and systems.
* Traces circuits by referring to schematic diagrams and visually inspects circuits for faulty insulation, poor electrical contacts, and broken or worn electrical components.
* May serve as a commodity inspector during Command Maintenance Management evaluations (COMET) or as a member of a Maintenance Assistance Instruction Team (MAIT).
* Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
* Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
* This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
* Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
* Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
* The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. Qualifications MILITARY GRADES: E5 through E8 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 91F,91B,13B GENERAL EXPERIENCE :
Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system operations. Experience demonstrating the ability to fit and adjust parts and assemblies. AND SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Experience or training in dismantling, cleaning, and reassembling various artillery subassemblies. Experience which has demonstrated the ability to diagnose malfunctions by recognizing worn or damaged parts by measurement, strength of springs or dimension of parts. Experience using hand tools, a limited number of measuring instruments, and a variety of test equipment. Experience which demonstrated the ability to interpret and apply a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.
