Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 13,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. Our District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 – 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

Key duties include maintaining cleanliness and safety across various areas:

• Washrooms: Empty trash, sanitize/clean fixtures, spot clean walls/partitions, clean mirrors, fill dispensers, dry mop and sweep, full wet mop, clean chalk/white boards.
• Office: Empty trash, dry mop and sweep, spot wet mop, low dust.
• Corridors: Clean water fountain, dust mop and sweep, vacuum runners, spot wet mop, high and low dust, clean glass, vacuum carpet/rugs.
• Classrooms: Low dust, dust mop and sweep, clean windows, spot wet mop, spot clean walls, clean sink.
• Perform time‑room or area duties: custodial area punch‑in, prepare equipment, daily steps for bookstore office, kitchen area staffing, staff lounge and cafeteria litter pick‑up and spot mop spills, disposal of cardboard boxes, dust mop, spot mop daily, full mop weekly, corridor checks, floor scrubber usage, glass cleaning, ledge and corner dusting, washroom sanity checks, custodial supply maintenance, preventive maintenance projects, custodial closet upkeep.
• Follow scheduling: 6:00 a.m. punch‑in, breaks at 8:00 and 12:00, lunch at 10:00, schedule continuation 10:30 and 12:15, custodian closet cleaning and store equipment 2:15, custodial area punch‑out 2:30.

Per Contract Salary Structure.

Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The employee is responsible for taking any and all steps necessary to protect herself and others against occupational accidents, injuries and illnesses.
