Associate Veterinarian

Our client is a privately owned, AAHA-accredited hospital located just outside Chicago, hiring for both full-time and part-time Associate Veterinarian positions. This well-established small animal practice provides care exclusively for dogs and cats and is open to supporting candidates with a wide range of experience levels.

This opportunity offers flexibility for either full-time or part-time schedules. Full-time doctors work between 32 and 39 hours per week, including two weekdays from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM and one weekday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. They also cover approximately 26 Saturdays per year on a rotating basis. Part-time veterinarians work one day from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and one day from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with shared Saturday rotations.

Appointments begin at 9:00 AM, with each doctor receiving a dedicated surgery morning per week followed by appointments starting at 2:00 PM. A minimum 1.5-hour midday break is built in for lunch and catch-up. The hospital maintains a well-paced schedule with 15-minute appointments for some visits and 30 minutes for sick patients and senior wellness exams.

The role involves delivering comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care in a collaborative and progressive environment. Candidates can choose to focus on general practice or participate in surgeries and advanced services, with the flexibility to pursue additional skills if desired. While experienced veterinarians are preferred, the hospital also welcomes new graduates and offers structured mentorship. A non-surgical role can be accommodated as well.

The hospital is fully equipped with digital radiography, dental X-rays, ultrasound, in-house diagnostics, Liga Sure, a plasma sterilizer, Smart Flow, Cubex, bear huggers, and more. Services include chemotherapy, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, chiropractic, acupuncture, stem cell therapy, PRP, and fear-free techniques. The facility is AAHA-accredited and includes Fear Free Certified veterinarians and team members. The environment emphasizes low-stress patient care, technology-forward practices, and team well-being—evident in features like a massage chair in the new break room.

The team includes seven DVMs (excluding daycare and grooming services), supported by 16 assistants and technicians and 11 client service representatives with a 4:1 support to vet ratio.
