Position: Housekeeper ($17 hourly)

POSITION TITLE: Housekeeper
DEPARTMENT: Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (Kroc Center Hawaii)
SUPERVISOR: Housekeeping Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Hourly

Responsibilities

This position may be required to work weekends and evenings.

Provide routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting of all interior and exterior building surfaces and furnishings.

Regular cleaning and sanitation of areas including restrooms, shower rooms, locker rooms, fitness areas and kitchen.

Provide furniture and equipment set‑ups and take‑downs in support of various programs and building uses.

Regular removal of trash, litter and recyclables.

Provide high level cleaning of public areas such as lobbies and entry areas.

Regular cleaning and sweeping of exterior areas including sidewalks, paved areas, and landscaping.

Maintain appropriate inventories of cleaning products, supplies and items such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soaps throughout the facility.

Maintain the appearance and functionality of the facilities and grounds components including doors, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings and furnishings.

Maintain records of cleaning, service and repair of building systems.

Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.

Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.

Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings.

Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Requires at least 1 year of experience in current janitorial methods and procedures.
Must have thorough knowledge of health and sanitation requirements of a public facility, preferably utilizing green/sustainable cleaning products and methods.

Additional Considerations

Physical Demands: The position requires sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, manual dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination; use of vision and lifting/carrying 25 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.

Communication Demands: Requires talking to co‑workers, clients, vendors; written communication with co‑workers, clients, vendor; talking on the telephone; responding to written or verbal requests; training and giving verbal and written instructions; reading and visiting/working at other worksites; communicating via the latest technologies.

Mental Demands: This position must prioritize and organize work assignments, take projects from beginning through completion, perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy, maintain poise under pressure, be self‑motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, and self‑directed; act with good judgment and handle crisis situations calmly.
