General Laborer

Overview

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for general labor and maintenance duties at Doyon Associated’s in-town shop.

Location: Town

Hours: Town – 40+

Point of hire: Fairbanks

Position type: Regular Full-time

• Understand, practice, and continually lead by example Doyon’s commitment to zero incident safety and environmental culture.
• General labor and maintenance at the shop directed from Equipment Superintendent.
• Organize and clean the shop.
• Remove snow and debris from the yard.
• Assist mechanics as needed.
• Work closely with the Equipment Superintendent as shop needs arise.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in various environmental conditions.
• Ability to work in a team environment, take directions from supervisor(s), follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
• Listen carefully and ask questions to understand the views, concerns, and comments of others.
• Ability to proactively work in a high-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to set and achieve goals and meet deadlines.
• Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

• None

• Minimum 1 year of experience to show a legacy of reliability and the ability to apply the necessary skills to perform the tasks required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Reliable means of transportation.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended amounts of time.
• Work extended hours (scheduled and/or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends), occasionally, as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
