Position Description
This is a permanent part‑time position that involves assisting with the operation and maintenance of all water and sewer operations, ensuring monthly and annual water testing is completed according to DEC regulations and maintaining and repairing the assets of the city including, but not limited to, water treatment and sewer systems.
This position requires the applicant to be able to travel for water operator training (if not already licensed) and possibly sewer training as well.
Qualifications- A basic knowledge of the English language is required to understand the nature and hazards of machinery, equipment and materials, and to follow written and verbal instructions.
- A knowledge of electrical operations in the water sheds, construction and maintenance machinery, tools and equipment is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required.
- Safe use of power and hand tools and other equipment.
- The ability to follow directions and take the initiative to perform required tasks without immediate supervision.
