Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
JOB SUMMARY
The Wells Support Technician is responsible for performing manual and semi-skilled labor tasks for construction and shop operations. This position provides assistance to journey-level workers and also provides support on a variety of tasks and projects while gaining experience and skills in a professional environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Assist in inventory of shop materials.
- Lift, carry and handle construction supplies and materials.
- Assist journeyman-level workers as needed.
- Learn to review blueprints, schematic drawings and job specifications to determine work requirements.
- Learn to dismantle, straighten, reshape and reassemble parts using cutting torches, straightening presses, hand tools and plasma torches.
- Learn to prepare material take-offs based on isometric and orthographic drawings.
- Learn to grind and sand metal parts before and after welding to smooth out rough surface.
- Operate welding equipment as needed.
- Clean and maintain equipment, tools and the general work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience.
- Driver License required
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.
- Previous welding work experience or education is preferred.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands and work environment requirements are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Candidates must be able to comply with the ASRC Energy Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy, successfully pass a pre‑employment drug test (urinalysis and/or hair testing), and meet the physical requirements of working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
A post‑offer, pre‑hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure the employee’s ability to safely meet job standards.
