Responsibilities
This individual performs essential complex installations, re-keys and repairs in the locksmith trade with the ability to install, re-key and repair locks, panic exit bars and any other lock pertaining device. Receives direction from the Trades worker IV and above. As this position is essential, the incumbent is expected to report to work before, during and after an emergency unless excused by management.
Education,Experience, Licensing
This position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to:
Graduation from High School; plus four years of locksmith experience, five years preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Class “E” drivers license with an acceptable driving record is required with the understanding a CDL may have to be obtained within six (6) months of hire. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Requires thorough knowledge of the locksmith trade, related codes, rules and regulations plus the ability to work from blueprints and sketches.
Physical requirements are the ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, dig and crawl in tight spaces, reach, stoop, squat, lift 60 pounds, work outside during all seasons, and work in small spaces in extreme temperatures. Must be able to pass the respirator physical and become respirator certified. As you could be asked to wear a respirator at any time, you will need to remain clean shaven if applicable.
Must be able to work flexible hours and days including weekends, overtime as needed and be on call as required.
Work Hours and Days:
Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm
