As a Sr. Reconditioning Associate I, you will play a vital role in ensuring every vehicle meets Car Max’s quality standards. This position combines technical expertise with attention to detail, focusing on Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) and other reconditioning tasks for Car Max used, new, and customer vehicles. You’ll also support related roles such as Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II and Flow Inventory Associate II when needed.

• Perform body repairs, including masking, sanding, and grinding to restore vehicle surfaces
• Apply primer and refinish paint, ensuring finishes and defect corrections
• Remove and replace parts as needed for cosmetic and structural integrity
• Repair plastic and substrates to meet Car Max quality standards
• Maintain and repair specialized equipment while ensuring proper cleaning and functionality
  
  Uphold Car Max Paint Standards and workplace organization under Car Max 5S principles and deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
• Follow Car Max Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

• Completion of New Associate Orientation Training – Operations
• Accountability to Associate 1 Competency Model and Car Max timekeeping systems training for Hourly Associates
• Ability to meet performance standards for Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II, Flow Inventory Associate II, and Sr. Reconditioning Associate roles
• Successful completion of workstation certifications across all relevant reconditioning areas
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately and perform multiple duties in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions, including outdoor environments
• Required to use Car Max-provided respiratory protection. Must be clean-shaven to use half-face respirator.

Except as otherwise required by state law, Car Max Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.

Associates That Are Considered Full-time Hourly Or Commission/incentive Eligible

• To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
• For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.

Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
