- Troubleshooting:
Diagnosing issues with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics - Independent Operation:
Unlike entry-level Tech I roles, a Tech II is expected to work independently, exercise judgment, and operate a full range of specialized tools and equipment. - Electrical & Control Systems:
Maintains basic electrical circuits and may handle specialized control systems like PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) or telecommunication equipment. - Preventative Maintenance:
Performs routine upkeep, including lubrication, calibration, and part fabrication to prevent system failures. - Administrative documentation:
Maintaining detailed repair and maintenance records. - Fabrication:
Creating or modifying parts as needed. - Adjustments:
Calibrating equipment for optimal performance.
- Education – High School or equivalent
- Experience –
Required:
2–4 years of technical experience
Skills and Abilities
– Describe skills and abilities required, including functional, technical and managerial. List the required and preferred skills, making a clear differentiation between them.
- Required:
A minimum of three (3) years field experience in working on electro‑mechanical systems. High vacuum systems experience a plus. - Required:
Computer literacy, with database experience. - Preferred: SAP preferred.
- Required:
Experience working with basic tools preferred (i.e. drill press, brake, multimeter, milling machine, MIG, TIG, lathes, etc.) - Required:
Good oral and written skills to prepare and deliver reports to management. - Peer Positions:
Production, quality and engineering team
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is required to walk; sit; reach above shoulders; and kneel.
Employees are required to have the ability to lift and carry 45 pounds frequently and participate in team lifting of weights exceeding 45 pounds.

The electrical induction melt technology used to heat the coils on the vacuum induction melters can interfere with the operation of a pacemaker.

Hourly range: $34 to $40. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance‑based bonus programs.
