A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to provide hands‑on leadership to maintenance personnel and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production and facility equipment. This role is responsible for directing daily maintenance activities, coordinating preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

The Maintenance Supervisor serves as the primary resource for front line technicians, providing technical guidance, coaching, and performance development while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities Maintenance Leadership & Execution
  • Prioritize, assign, and monitor daily maintenance work orders and repair activities.
  • Provide clear direction to maintenance technicians and ensure effective shift-to-shift communication regarding outstanding issues.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for urgent and emergency maintenance requests.
  • Supervise repairs and maintenance of production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
  • Make sound operational decisions independently when management is unavailable.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
  • Implement and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for all plant assets.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed on schedule to reduce unplanned downtime and optimize asset performance.
  • Continuously evaluate maintenance effectiveness and adjust programs as needed.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions following equipment failures.
Planning & Systems Management
  • Utilize CMMS platforms such as SAP or similar systems to plan labor, parts, and job scope.
  • Develop maintenance plans that maximize work completion during production windows, sanitation periods, scheduled outages, and plant shutdowns.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work order histories, and performance metrics.
Inventory & Project Support
  • Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to maintain adequate spare parts and critical components.
  • Assist with capital projects, equipment installations, and special engineering initiatives.
  • Support development and revision of maintenance procedures and department policies.
Team Development & Supervision
  • Train technicians on safe work practices, troubleshooting techniques, and new equipment.
  • Conduct employee coaching, performance evaluations, and development planning.
  • Review and approve timekeeping, scheduling, promotions, and personnel changes.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-focused team culture.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and all applicable environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Maintain compliance with current codes and regulations affecting mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, sanitation, and quality requirements.
