Heat Treater - 1st Shift Weekends

Summary

Based in Cincinnati, OH/Fairfield, OH, the Heat Treater will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed.

Entry Level: 0 to 24 months of heat treating experience. Expected to learn and grow with guidance from senior team members.

• Assists with operations, control, and monitoring of heat treating and related equipment as required and as written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.

Mid-Level: 2 to 3 years of experience in heat treating. Proven track record, ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.

• Operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and as written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.

Senior-Level: 3 to 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of heat treating. Will lead initiatives, mentor junior team members, and make strategic contributions to the department.

• Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and as written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.

• Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
• Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• Responsible for the care and treatment of customers’ inventory; will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co‑workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

• ITAR compliance requirements: candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
• Must be able to work required shift: 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM; weekends:
  Friday, Saturday, Sunday; may be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
• Must demonstrate ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Candidates must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and basic physical.

• Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
