Janitor and Maintenance

Ensure building is kept clean, well-maintained, and safe on a daily basis.

• Perform all aspects of facility cleaning.
• Develop and utilize janitorial and maintenance schedule to ensure implementation of scheduled duties.
• Ensure efficient flow and timely completion of work orders.
• Engage in painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings as well as assisting the supervisor with larger projects; ensure all equipment, tools and machinery are in proper working condition.
• Monitor and control supplies and equipment; prepare and submit requisition for supplies and tools as necessary for the location ensuring cost efficiency.
• Communicate needs or problems to supervisor.
• Ensure safety related problems are corrected in accordance to Community Link safety regulations and to ensure that the location is maintained and safe.
• Assist the supervisor with the preparation of facility maintenance budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for equipment.
• Assist in the development of the agency by promoting volunteerism and promoting awareness to the general public in order for Community Link to be a leader in programs and services.

Education and/or

Experience:

Six months related janitorial and maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to use mop, broom, and/or any other tools, including a ladder, necessary to complete job duties.

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee continuously is required to lift up to 10 lbs.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 24 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
