Serves as a working supervisor of the Maintenance Department, performing a variety of maintenance duties to meet NEXCOM Hospitality Group standards. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, repair of buildings and equipment, and ensuring facility cleanliness.
Duties & Responsibilities- Supervise maintenance personnel performing interior and exterior maintenance across all buildings.
- Train associates using NHG training standards; schedule and assign work.
- Check quality of work, monitor productivity, motivate staff, and encourage development.
- Develop performance standards and evaluate associates’ work performance.
- Prepare and verify departmental payroll information.
- Inspect rooms daily to ensure NHG standards and complete preventive maintenance repairs.
- Origin work orders for needed repairs to guest rooms or public areas; review with Maintenance Manager.
- Handle duties identified in Maintenance Worker and Maintenance Worker Lead position descriptions.
- Secure guest room keys; log key use; report lost keys to Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain overall upkeep and cleanliness of NHG facilities and work areas.
- Respond to all guest requests and inquiries regarding maintenance service; refer problems to Management as needed.
- Manage departmental budget for supplies, linens, towels, labor; monitor monthly expenses.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies; order replacements; record arrivals; keep storage areas clean.
- Ensure operating procedures comply with state and federal regulations (OSHA, NHG).
- Maintain accountability for issuance and control of keys.
- Control inventory of associates’ uniforms; ensure proper condition and usage.
- Work under direction of Maintenance Manager and maintain continuity in their absence.
- Keep management apprised of work status and advise on problem areas.
- Carry out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and communicate support to subordinates.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Perform physical tasks: stand, stoop, bend, kneel; lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work inside and outside; exposed to dust, dirt, fumes, etc.; possible cuts or bruises.
- 4 years of general maintenance experience.
- 1 year of experience in general maintenance practices (upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment).
- 3 years of general maintenance work involving carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, HVAC, refrigeration, masonry.
- High school diploma or GED; may substitute 3 months of general experience for 1 year of high school education.
