Responsible for parking, fueling, servicing, and launching a variety of military and civilian aircraft.
Responsibilities- Operate a 10k forklift and 25k K-Loader to load and unload cargo from aircraft and ensure the forklift is operational.
- Provide maintenance support on six E‑28 Arresting Gear, four MK‑8’s, two PAPI Systems, and S.E. Gear.
- Operate "follow me" vehicles and use radio equipment to communicate with the control tower.
- Respond to emergencies as directed by the controlled Tower.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Accuracy and timeliness in processing material requests within own department.
- Maintain tools and equipment within possession.
- Use PPE when required.
- Timely, cost‑effective performance of duties and maintain good housekeeping of terminal.
- Work closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations.
- Minimum 3 years flight line experience with basic knowledge of E‑28 Arresting Gear and MK‑8 Optical Landing System.
- Strong oral communication with military and civilian personnel.
- General knowledge of hand tools, small engine repair, and/or electrical theory preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Government Yellow license for the equipment needed on the Transient Line.
- Valid Nevada Driver’s License.
- OSHA 10 card or ability to obtain within first 90 days of employment.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Proficient English reading, speaking, writing.
- Professional and courteous conduct with diverse people.
- Lavatory Services – transport grey/black water cart to and from planes to holding station.
- Fueling – provide pressure and gravity fueling of aircraft including grounding, connecting/disconnecting fuel hoses.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors; outdoor work subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather.
- Capable of lifting/moving up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to climb stairs.
- Work hours subject to change, possible overtime.
- Exposure to hazards: cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust, odors, noise.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven or inclined surfaces.
