Location:

The Navy Inn, part of the Navy Exchange Service Command in Fallon, NV.

Job Summary

Serves as working supervisor of the Maintenance Department. Performs a combination of day‑to‑day maintenance duties to ensure NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) standards are met, including preventive maintenance, alteration, and repair of NHG buildings and equipment. Supports all maintenance office operations, guest services, and housekeeping support as required, and works a shift schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervises maintenance personnel for all interior and exterior building functions.
  • Trains associates using NHG training standards; schedules and assigns work; checks quality; monitors productivity; motivates staff and encourages development.
  • Develops performance standards and evaluates associates’ work performance; prepares and verifies departmental payroll information.
  • Inspects rooms daily to ensure NHG standards are met and preventive maintenance repairs are completed; originates work orders for needed repairs and reviews them with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Performs all duties identified in the Maintenance Worker and Maintenance Worker Lead position descriptions.
  • Maintains security of guest rooms and assigned pass key, logging in and out properly; reports lost key immediately to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintains overall upkeep and cleanliness of NHG facilities and work area.
  • Responds to all guest requests and inquiries concerning maintenance service; refers problems to the Maintenance Manager for further action.
  • Manages departmental budget for guest supplies, linen, towels, labor, etc.; monitors monthly expenses; maintains inventory of maintenance supplies; places orders for replacement; records arrival of ordered supplies and equipment; keeps all storerooms clean and orderly.
  • Ensures operating procedures comply with state and federal regulations, including OSHA and NHG policies.
  • Maintains accountability for issuance and control of keys.
  • Controls inventory of associates’ uniforms, ensuring approved uniforms and badges are worn and maintained in proper condition.
  • Works under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and maintains continuity in their absence.
  • Keeps management apprised of work status, assignments, and advises concerning problem areas.
  • Carries out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and communicates support of these policies to subordinates.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

Physical effort required to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Work is performed inside and outside, exposed to dust, dirt, fumes, and soiling of hands and clothing; may be exposed to cuts and bruises.

Experience and Education

Minimum 4 years of experience, including:

  • One year of general maintenance experience covering upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment, etc.
  • Three years of specialized maintenance work in trades such as carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, air conditioning, refrigeration, and masonry.
  • One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience.

Full‑time (35+ hours per week). United States – Nevada – Fallon.
