Position: Small Projects Maintenance Tech - Fargo

Overview

Join our Premier Property Management Team. Creating a better living. The Maintenance Technician Small Projects is a critical member of our team who serves our residents by ensuring higher level requests and repairs are made in a reliable, timely, and safe manner. The role is accountable for identifying problems, completing service requests assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor Small Projects, handling time-consuming projects generally taking 4 hours to 3 days in length or costs between $2,500 and $5,000, and preparing open apartments in a timely manner.

Job Duties
  • Complete assigned service requests related to repairs and upkeep of properties, including carpentry, flooring, drywall, cabinets and countertops, and other general small repairs. Recommend replacement or repair as necessary, ensuring that all work completed is professional and clean after leaving residents’ homes.
  • Projects are completed by either small teams or independently, depending on scope.
  • Prepare open apartments for rental within 24 to 72 hours; coordinate with other team members or vendors to meet the timeline and quality standards.
  • Manage each portion of the project from assignment to completion.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to build and maintain knowledge and skills for excellence in the role.
  • Perform seasonal maintenance repairs as listed in the Spring/Summer and Winter/Fall checklists and assist with city inspection generated work orders as necessary.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with residents and site offices/management by addressing small project requests, questions, and concerns in a timely manner, and referring to supervisors, regional maintenance managers, or property managers as appropriate.
Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Equivalent education with 3+ years related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of complicated and time-consuming maintenance repairs.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC mechanical repair, or light construction preferred.
  • Must have a vehicle, a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and meet company insurability requirements.
