Maintenance Engineer II

Essentia Health seeks a Maintenance Engineer II to maintain and repair building systems that support safe, reliable patient care. In this role, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, respond to work orders, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. You'll monitor life-safety and building automation systems, ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and document work in a CMMS.

Collaborating with clinical and support teams, you'll help create a comfortable, efficient, and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff while growing your technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Respond to and complete work orders and emergency calls in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot building equipment issues to minimize downtime and service disruptions
• Monitor and adjust building automation and life-safety systems for optimal performance
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and healthcare facility standards
• Document work performed in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Collaborate with clinical and support staff to support patient care operations
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours response as needed
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify and address potential issues proactively
• Support continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and energy efficiency initiatives
