Job Duties

Safety/Security Sensitive Designation:

This is a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.

Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.

Maintain a clean and healthful environment for employees and citizens of the City of Fayetteville.

Empty trash containers.

Dust windowsills, blinds, horizontal and vertical surfaces and clean interior windows.

Test new cleaning supplies for effectiveness.

Clean interior and exterior glass.

Sweep, mop and vacuum floors, including under furniture.

Replace burned out lights.

Spot clean walls.

Buff floors as needed.

Clean parking lots.

Clean restrooms and ensure supplies are readily available.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and one year of related experience is required.

Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses. Must not have any felony convictions.

For staff assigned to a City-owned CJIS Security Facility; must successfully pass a CJIS background check.

Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.

Must have the ability to operate general cleaning equipment as well as floor buffer.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities to perform essential functions.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.
