Summary ofJob Duties:
The Maintenance Technician at UAMS Northwest Regional Campus plays a vital role in maintaining the campus’s twelve facilities. This dual-role position combines outdoor landscaping responsibilities with technical maintenance duties to ensure a safe, functional, and visually appealing environment for patients, staff, students, and visitors. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep of landscaping and facility maintenance, contributing directly to the operational reliability of the campus.

Minimum Qualifications:- High School diploma/GED.
- Five (5) years of maintenance or landscaping experience.
- Valid AR driver’s license with fewer than 12 points on the Motor Vehicle Record.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, general liberal arts, or related field, plus three (3) years of project management or office coordination.
- Six (6) to ten (10) years of landscaping and grounds keeping experience with an additional five (5) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proficiency in landscaping and groundskeeping techniques.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping and maintenance equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Collaborates with Program Director to ensure that the program meets or exceeds all accreditation requirements.
Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance- Perform all routine care of campus grass and ornamental grasses, including mowing, edging, trimming, seeding, and fertilizing.
- Prepare, install, and maintain decorative landscaping across the campus, planting and caring for flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants.
- Oversee and adjust watering schedules for grass and plant beds to ensure healthy growth and appearance.
- Monitor landscape health and apply pest/disease control solutions as needed.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair building systems including boilers, air handlers, HVAC systems, and plumbing across twelve facilities.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and prolong system lifespan.
