Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Shop Supervisor or the Road Superintendent, the incumbent is to provide assistance to the maintenance shop. The incumbent has to make sure that the shop has adequate parts and materials on-hand for the maintenance of county roads, and heavy equipment. The incumbent is responsible for approximately $800,000 worth of tools, equipment and $400,000 in parts and supplies.

In the absence of the Shop Supervisor, the incumbent assumes the responsibility of the Shop Supervisor position.

Required Qualifications: Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required, this position is subject to pre‑employment, random drug and reasonable suspicion testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test. All new and rehires must pass a pre‑employment drug test and are subject to a physical examination and verification of information provided.
