Job SummaryThe Project Lead – Structured Cabling will act as the on‑site coordinator and supervisor of several Crew Leads for voice and data installation projects. The role ensures job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining staff efficiency.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Run major project crews consistently, providing training and ensuring effective performance.
- Ensure adherence to company and customer safety and quality guidelines.
- Hold weekly safety meetings and initiate performance‑related communications.
- Escalate issues to the Project Manager as necessary.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with the project budget.
- Complete all IES commercial and project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and other required documentation.
- Perform quality checks, coordinate moves, cut sheets for voice and data cross‑connects, and prepare red‑lined as‑built drawings.
- Serve as the main on‑site customer contact for questions and concerns, and attend facility and construction meetings when required.
- Demonstrate a detailed level of technical knowledge, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
- Compensation: Minimum USD $31.00/Hr. Maximum USD $35.00/Hr.
- Self‑motivated, positive approach, professional demeanor, and ability to create, develop, and implement project process improvements.
- Promote company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
- Act as the company liaison for interface with customer representative(s). Possess proven problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
- Effective reading, writing, and oral presentation skills.
- Physical ability to stand and walk on large job sites, work at various heights on a ladder, in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds, and see, read, and hear operational signals.
- Travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Regular attendance mandatory.
Tool proficiency: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle‑nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves, punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt‑ohmmeter, 4‑pair continuity tester, and 5‑gang punch tool.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements- High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
- At least six (6) months supervisory and/or managerial experience.
- Ability to terminate fiber and interpret blueprints, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
- Proficiency with universal communication color codes.
- Proficient use of listed tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Meet company minimum driving standards.
