We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in our Fernley, NV.

Starting Pay: $100K-$115K annually, could increase based on experience.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for directly supervising the work of 1 to 7 Maintenance Technicians. Delegating work orders and preventive maintenance orders to the Maintenance Technicians. Expected hours of work 40 hours a week with possibility of overtime, variable shifts. Travel for training or other plant observations when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of maintenance personnel.
  • Assist in training and development of maintenance personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities associated with the maintenance department.
  • Conduct daily pre‑shift meetings.
  • Delegate work orders to maintenance personnel and production co‑workers as needed.
  • Schedule and delegate preventive maintenance tasks for all plant equipment.
  • Ensure plant safety rules and regulations – especially lockout/tagout.
  • Work with Carlisle Engineering to troubleshoot issues, equipment upgrades, and new installations.
  • Conduct maintenance technician reviews (30‑60‑90, midyear, annual).
  • Document incidents, disciplinary actions, accident injury reports, and other related employee issues when needed.
  • Participate in COS activities which include SQDC board walks, 5S, and Kaizen events.
  • Possess an advanced understanding of the maintenance department and job requirements.
  • Keep the entire plant inside and out in good condition.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.
Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Previous experience in General Building Electrical, Industrial PLC Electrical Training, Plumbing, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding, and Boilers.
  • Knowledge of measuring gauges such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Prior experience operating a forklift and scissor lift.
  • Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Ladder Logic, etc.).
  • Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Prior experience reading blueprints, equipment manuals and schematics, and preventive maintenance and work order schedules.
  • Understanding of basic math and writing skills.
  • Have boiler operator certification or ability to obtain boiler certification.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes including NEMA, NFPA 70E, and Arc Flash.
  • Industrial electrical AC/DC troubleshooting skills, including ability to utilize electrical instrumentation (megohmmeter).
  • Complete knowledge of all plant equipment (Level III).
  • Ability to use hand and portable tools, gas and arc welder, forklift, pickup truck, testing equipment, tape measure, and computer (shop floor and ERP).
  • Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required, or technical school degree.
  • Three to five (3‑5) years of related maintenance experience.
  • Two to Three (2‑3) years of prior leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler preferred.
  • Mechanical background with rotating equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
  • PLC knowledge.

  • Fast‑paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to ambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.
  • Exposure to hazardous mechanical, electrical, and chemical substances/equipment.
  • Confined work spaces.
