Custodian, Customer Fulfillment Center

Position Summary

The Custodian position at MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Reno, NV, works Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. This role maintains the facility in a clean, orderly, and sanitary manner, ensuring a safe environment for all associates.

• Remove and clean refuse, including bio‑hazardous materials, from various warehouse departments.
• Clean offices, restrooms, break rooms, and other areas.
• Operate floor buffer, sweeper/scrubber, and other cleaning tools.
• Inspect the building for damages and report to the manager as necessary.
• Handle and use cleaning materials, including chemicals.
• Support the Safety Culture by following established SOPs.
• Engage in the local Safety Culture through safety team support and offering safety suggestions.
• Assist department supervisors in identifying risks to associates or the business and mitigating those risks.
• Participate in work clean programs.
• Perform all duties within safety guidelines.
• Meet specified productivity and quality expectations.
• Foster the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC's mission.
• Load, unload, and move product by hand.
• Be ready to be temporarily reassigned to other warehouse functions to meet customer service requirements.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Basic computer skills required.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 75 pounds (individual or team lift), carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, climbing using legs and arms, balancing, stooping, kneeling, repeated bending, reaching, and twisting. Must be able to operate at heights up to 50 feet and wear personal protective equipment as required. Must remain mentally alert for entire shift.

Starting at $22.00 per hour, depending on location and experience. The salary range represents similar roles in comparable industries and is subject to change based on market conditions.
