Position Overview
Facilities Specialist II (Findlay) – an entry level facilities maintenance position responsible for minor repairs, seasonal duties (snow/ice removal, landscaping, mowing), event set‑ups and tear‑downs, monitoring of restrooms, work orders, and collaboration with the facilities team.
Essential Functions- Perform minor repairs and maintenance in electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other building systems (replace parts, light ballasts, flush valves, faucets, drains, etc.).
- Perform seasonal duties such as lawn mowing, trimming, bed maintenance, general landscaping, snow removal and salting.
- Complete jobs related to maintenance work on a daily basis (work orders) as requested by the supervisor.
- Clean buildings and grounds as needed/assigned, including monitoring restroom cleaning and supplies.
- Set up / tear down special events (move furniture, set up tables/chairs, and equipment).
- Other duties as assigned.
- At least 24 months of experience in building maintenance and repairs.
- Professional and dependable performance of maintenance and repair tasks following safe work practices.
- Assist supervisor as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as caulking and painting.
- Physical ability to lift materials up to 75 pounds.
- Assume use of power tools and other job‑related equipment.
- Maintain a professional approach, good judgment, team orientation, initiative, and strong work ethic.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- At least 24 months of experience in building maintenance and repairs.
- Valid driver’s license and maintain insurability through the College’s insurance.
