Perform general custodial, cleaning, grounds, and light maintenance duties for campus buildings and grounds. Duties include cleaning and maintaining interior spaces, operating floor and ground care equipment, performing simple repairs, handling materials and furniture moves, locking/unlocking facilities, and assisting with snow removal and exterior upkeep. Role may include varied shifts, weekends, holidays, or nights.

• Clean offices, lounges, bathrooms, corridors, and other campus spaces
• Clean, wax, polish, and buff floors; operate vacuums, buffers, carpet scrubbers, and sweepers
• Empty and clean waste receptacles; wash windows, woodwork, fixtures, and furniture
• Handle materials and supplies, move furniture, and assist with incoming/outgoing deliveries
• Perform snow removal, sweep walks, rake leaves, and maintain adjacent outside areas
• Perform simple general repairs and routine maintenance tasks
• Lock and unlock premises and perform basic security tasks
• Perform safety checks and follow housekeeping chemical and PPE requirements
• Other duties as assigned within the Maintainer I specification

• Considerable knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in housekeeping and cleaning operations; basic maintenance knowledge
• Ability to operate and care for electronic sweepers, vacuums, buffers, snow blowers, and other cleaning/grounds equipment
• Ability to perform simple repairs and follow oral and written instructions
• Physical ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods, climb ladders/scaffolds, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Working knowledge of cleaning supplies, their uses, and effects on finishes
• Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships and perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

• Campus environment with indoor cleaning and outdoor grounds tasks; exposure to weather at docks/grounds and hazards such as wet floors, chemicals, and dust
• Frequent walking and standing; occasional stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Pre-employment physical required

• Bi-weekly pay rate: $1,902.30 (Grade 10, Step 05) = $49,459.80 annual salary
• Full-time, non-exempt, benefits-eligible position in AFSCME bargaining unit
