Custodial Position
Under limited supervision performs work of routine difficulty in the cleaning and maintenance of County facilities; performs related work as assigned.
Typical duties include: cleaning and maintaining County facilities, identifying and reporting repair needs and performing minor repairs, performing grounds maintenance including snow removal. Essential functions of this position include standing, walking, crouching and stooping to perform custodial work; lifting and carrying trash bags and storage boxes up to 60 lbs; frequent repetitive motion of hands, wrists, elbow and shoulders to clean;
working with and around other employees and coworkers; communicating with employees and coworkers; ability to communicate both written and verbally with co-workers. Touch and finger dexterity while cleaning. Environmental conditions includes hazards (mechanical and electrical) from vacuum cleaner, buffer, etc; (chemicals) from floor and window cleaners, wax, etc; atmospheric conditions includes fumes from chemicals, odors from cleaning products; office dust;
mist from spray bottles-aerosols.
Minimum qualifications include one year of custodial experience; or any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout.
Preferred qualifications:
previous professional custodial experience. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic and ability to work independently, attention to detail and high cleanliness standards, customer service experience, professional interactions with staff and visitors, reliable, punctual, and dependable, physical stamina for lifting, standing, and performing cleaning tasks, team player.
This position is non-exempt from overtime. This position is safety sensitive.
