Auto Maintenance Technician II – Management Level Individual Contributor
Location & Schedule
Must work at a specified Cox location. Day shift only. Flexible work option not available. No remote work. Travel % as required.
Compensation
Hourly base pay: $24.23 – $36.35 per hour, depending on location and experience. Eligible for additional compensation such as commission or incentive programs.
Job Description
Mid-level vehicle technician responsible for high-quality maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles. Provides service and delivery with exceptional customer care and vehicle control.
- Perform preventive maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and vehicle inspections.
- Conduct complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and fabrication as needed.
- Repair systems including OBD II, brakes, tires, tune-ups, suspension, aerial lifts, electrical, hydraulic systems, hybrids, generators, and on-board computer systems.
- Maintain or fabricate equipment such as cable trailers and laptop docking stations.
- Keep the shop area clean, tidy and safe; dispose of fluids in accordance with regulations.
- Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records.
- Up‑fit new vehicles with necessary equipment and custom equipment as required.
- Coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs, and provide roadside assistance when needed.
- Take initiative and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- 4 ASE certifications: A4, A5, A6, A7.
- 2–3 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
- Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ongoing training to maintain ASE status and keep up with technology and fleet changes.
- Physical ability: stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb as required.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, depth perception and focus adjustment.
