POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Worker
RESPONSIBLE TO: Superintendent of Education
REPORTS TO: School System Maintenance Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS: High school education or equivalent with successful experience with and knowledge of plumbing, electricity, carpentry, painting and general maintenance. The Maintenance Worker must be able to assist in performing preventive maintenance and repairs to general school facilities, equipment and school sites necessary for the safety and comfort of all pupils and employees assigned in the school system.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILTIES/
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in maintaining the school sites, equipment and facilities of the Autauga County School System.
2. Assume and carry out certain job tasks as assigned by the school system’s Maintenance Coordinator and/or the Superintendent of Education or his/her designee.
3. Practice safety to self and to others in the performing of all work assignments.
4. Accept supervision of the school system’s Maintenance Coordinator and follow his/her instructions.
5. Subject to call seven (7) days a week, 24 hours per day in cases of emergencies that may threaten the school system’s property and/or equipment.
6. Perform any other jobs as assigned by the Superintendent of Education.
