Position Summary
Performs varied tasks that require the application of skilled abilities to maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and related utilities services. On‑job supervision is minimal and functional in nature when assigned by the Support Services Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs routine maintenance and preventive maintenance as directed.
- Assists in the completion of the maintenance for the Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Assists with inspections related to maintenance, grounds care, and custodial and reports to the Support Services Supervisor.
- Inspects work area to determine any problems or hazards to work functions, equipment, and materials and follows hazardous communication procedures at the direction of the Support Services Supervisor.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings when scheduled.
- Performs related work as mandated.
- Uses and demonstrates use of common and specialized tools, equipment, and materials related to the work.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, and schematics as related to buildings and utilities service systems.
- Administers and deciphers national and local codes.
- Applies and demonstrates methods and practices of remodeling, constructing, and installing and replacing utilities services systems.
- Executes oral and written communications.
- Estimates and costs materials.
- Applies OSHA rules and regulations.

Specialized tools, equipment, and materials related to the work being performed may involve plumbing, electrical, masonry, painting.
Safety RequirementsFollows all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in the performance of duties. Wear appropriate safety gear, including masks. Must comply with the school district's chemical hygiene program and follow MSDS sheets.
Travel RequirementsTravel to and from district sites as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Two (2) years of work experience in a specialty appropriate to the assignment preferred or related.
