Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Facility Maintenance
- Experience operating commercial equipment preferred.
Performs varied tasks that require the application of skilled abilities to maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and related utilities services. On-job supervision is minimal and functional in nature when assigned by the Support Services Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs routine maintenance and preventive maintenance as directed.
- Assists in the completion of the maintenance for the Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Assists with inspections related to maintenance, grounds care, and custodial and reports to the Support Services Supervisor.
- Inspects work area to determine any problems or hazards to work functions, equipment, and materials and follows hazardous communication procedures at the direction of the Support Services Supervisor.
- Attends staff meeting and trainings when scheduled.
- Performs related work as mandated.
- Use and demonstrate use of common and specialized tools, equipment and materials related to the work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics as related to buildings and utilities service systems.
- Administer and decipher National and Local codes.
- Apply and demonstrate methods and practices of remodeling, constructing, and installing and replacing utilities services systems.
- Execute oral and written communications.
- Estimating, and costing materials.
- Apply OSHA Rules and Regulations.

Safety RequirementsFollows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in the performance of duties. Wear appropriate safety gear, including masks. Must comply with the school district's chemical hygiene program and follow MSDS sheets.
Travel RequirementsTravel to and from district sites as needed.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform Each Essential Duty Satisfactorily. Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Two (2) years of work experience in specialty appropriate to assignment preferred. or related
- experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required pesticide applicator certifications, if applicable.
- Experience operating commercial equipment preferred.
- Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance.
- Measles/Mumps/Rubella Immunity/Vaccination.
- Valid I-9 form.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to stand and walk, requires mobility for reaching and bending; must possess adequate hearing, oral and vision skill to perform daily functions of the job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee may be required to travel.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Hourly rate based on column D of the approved Classified Salary schedule as established by the Governing Board.
12 months, 8 hours per day

EvaluationPerformance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Support Services Supervisor and/or the Director of Support Services, in accordance with Governing Board Policy.
