Engineer Technician in Training; Florence, SC

Overview

Holder Construction is currently seeking entry level Engineer Technicians in Training to support our Field Supervision and project located in Florence, SC.

The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced yet supported environment, can work independently on assignments, handle multiple projects, stay flexible, and meet tight deadlines.

• Assist Field Engineers in operating electronic total station instruments, transit, Auto level and other surveying instruments.
• Assist with setting and marking stakes for slopes, grades and other construction purposes.
• Set markers, lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances.
• Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools.
• Provide primary support to field supervision; demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues.

• Ideal candidates have 6 months to 1 year of experience; able to read drawings; training in construction safety protocols (e.g., OSHA 10, fall protection, mobile elevated platforms such as boom and scissor).
• A high school diploma or GED is a plus; strong time management skills.

• Agile/mobile; able to stand or walk for long periods; use fingers, hands and arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects; climb ladders, scaffolds, and other structures; work on uneven surfaces/heights; read/write; good vision and hearing.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs 75% of the time.
• Work in an OSHA compliant safety environment; outdoor work; overtime and weekend hours; punctuality and promptness are required daily.
