Title: Dragline Operator

Location: Palm Beach County

Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Department: Operations

Essential Duties:

• Safely operates a dragline in all modes of digging, spoiling and propelling.
• Assists supervisor with maintaining consistent dig sequence and windrow placement.
• Anticipates walking pad requirements and requests grading assistance to eliminate down time on the machine.
• Conducts pre shift inspections, rope inspections and monitors bucket teeth to anticipate necessary replacement.
• Assist other crew members to maintain positive, engaged and safe work environment.
• Performs job duties in accordance with MSHA, OSHA & USACE law and regulations, established company safety procedures and State and Federal environmental regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with ground crew, supervisors, site personnel and representatives.

• Support and assist the maintenance team with all repair and component replacements.
• At times, may be required to drive a company vehicle; must maintain a valid driving record (MVR) and in good standing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Prior demonstrated ability operating draglines or other heavy equipment in a construction or mining environment.
• Ability to work with other crew members and work as a team player is a must.

• Prior on-the-job experience as a dragline operator is required.

• Prior dragline operating experience
• Clean MVR
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• OSHA compliant Man-Lift Training (current or ability to obtain upon hire)
• OSHA compliant Telehandler Training (current or ability to obtain upon hire)

• Standing / maintenance and cleaning
• Walking / maintenance and cleaning
• Sitting / equipment operation
• Lifting up to 75 lbs / tools & supplies
• Carrying up to 75 lbs / tools & supplies
• Pushing up to 75 lbs / making mechanical repairs
• Pulling up to 75 lbs / making mechanical repairs
• Climbing (dragline boom, mounting equipment)
• Balancing (mounting equipment)
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling for making mechanical repairs
• Reaching / equipment operation
• Handling / controls
• Fingering / controls, computer
• Repetitive motions / controls
• Foot/leg movement / foot pedals
• Speaking / radio, communications
• Hearing / equipment problem detection, radio, hazard recognition
• Seeing / equipment operation, hazard recognition
• Depth perception / equipment operation
• Color vision / identification of seams
