Chemours is seeking a
** Mechanic
* * to join our growing Maxville Mine team! This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor at our
** Maxville, FL
** location.
** The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
*** This position will safely perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with process equipment and mechanical systems for mining and mineral processing facilities operating 24-hours per day, 7-days per week maximizing equipment availability and reducing downtime.
* Mechanic will support active operations by safely and efficiently maintaining, servicing, and installing/replacing water and slurry pumps, clarifiers, screeners, conveyors, feeders, shredders, bins, valves, and other mineral processing wear parts.
* Mechanic will need to install, replace, troubleshoot, repair and maintain process equipment as well as perform preventive maintenance activities on all process equipment.
* Preferred candidate will be an experienced and qualified industrial mechanic capable of working closely with maintenance and operations teams in a mining and mineral processing environment.
** The following is
* required* for this role:
*** High School graduate or equivalent plus specialized training in mechanical, maintenance or a related field
* Understanding methods and techniques of troubleshooting, repairing and installing plant equipment, rigging and lifting equipment, precision laser alignment of pumps and motors.
* Knowledge of MSHA rules and regulations.
* Use of computers and applicable software applications.
** The following is
* preferred* for this role:*** +5-years years of plant maintenance experience
* Valid Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent, welding and rigging certification
