Position Overview and Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a challenging and rewarding position as a non-resident OPS Park Attendant at one of Florida’s most dynamic state parks. The selected employee will be immersed in the operation of Manatee Springs State Park.

Responsible for greeting visitors at the park entrance, providing information about park activities (canoeing, kayaking, swimming, picnicking), informing visitors of park rules, collecting fees, and operating a point-of-sale cash register. Additionally, maintain an organized workspace, answer phones, operate radio equipment, and reconcile receipts and reports.

Visitor Services / Visitor Education

Explains facilities and services for public use, meets visitors, answers questions, and provides information and directions. Attempts to resolve visitor complaints while maintaining good public relations.

Maintenance

Maintains cleanliness of grounds, parking areas, facilities, and restrooms. Cleans the interior of the ranger station, including the staff restroom.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License
Position of Special Trust Requirement

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422. Successful completion of background screening will be required.

Pay
  • $15/hr, up to 29hrs per week
