This position reports to: Service Operations Manager
Role and ResponsibilitiesAs the Marine Field Service Engineer (FSE), you plan and execute, with minimal professional guidance, complex technical field assignments involving the installation, modification, test, inspection or repair of company products and equipment. You may also coordinate work with other groups to ensure customer commitments are met and, because you are often the primary customer contact, recommend measures to improve operations and service.
- Travel to customer premises globally, most often aboard vessels in offshore and dry docking environments – e.g., drill ships, drilling rigs, offshore supply vessels, cruise ships, ferries, tankers, container ships, and others.
- Work independently to install, modify, test, repair, or inspect company products and equipment, including power generation, distribution and control, low‑ and medium‑voltage systems, and protection functions.
- Provide remote on‑call support for customer technical problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying personal knowledge and experience.

Qualifications- Three or more years of experience in marine power generation and power distribution, with a focus on protection relays, circuit breakers, contractors, transformers, AVRs, communications, and control of those systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with marine/offshore work environments and procedures.
- Experience in marine power systems.
- Preferred experience with ABB marine equipment.
- Experience as a ship electrician or in shipyard operations, with an understanding of and interest in marine installations.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
