Responsibilities- Responsible for coordinating comprehensive maintenance objectives for Campus Recreation indoor fitness venues including Bobby
E. Leach Center, Tully Gym, Fitness and Movement Clinic and Speicher Tennis Courts. Shares responsibilities with Campus Recreation Outdoor Maintenance Supervisor and FSU Grounds for Harkins Field and Westside Courts. Coordinates and performs building maintenance issues and activities in assigned facilities to include basic custodial, housekeeping, painting, electrical, HVAC and plumbing repairs as well as carpentry repair/construction as needed. Coordinates maintenance of indoor aquatic systems, including pool and spa area at Bobby
E. Leach Center. - Plans and schedules daily work assignments for all subordinates assigned to indoor facilities through coordination with the Assistant Director of Fitness and Facilities Operations and the Assistant Director of Fitness Programming for scheduled activities at respective facilities. Supervises the performance of staff members (plumbing, painting, HVAC, carpentry, custodial, etc.) and responds to requests for assistance with repairs and service. Reviews work daily to ensure standards of department are met.
Oversees recruitment, selection, hiring, training, evaluation and termination of staff members. - Ensures that all maintenance equipment, vehicles and tools are inventoried, in working condition, and properly secured at all times. Works with custodial staff to ensure that all custodial and housekeeping supplies are stocked and distributed as needed. Makes recommendations to Facilities Superintendent on equipment, materials, and supply purchases. Assists in recommending purchases, policies and procedures for indoor facilities. Evaluates repair/maintenance needs advising if additional resources are required.
- Makes recommendations to supervisor on equipment, materials, and supplies needed. Assists in recommending policies and procedures for indoor facilities. Develops and maintains preventive maintenance schedule for facilities and equipment and keep record of inspections, repair and safety checklists accordingly via Asset Essentials, online software program. Responsible for procurement compliance for necessary operational purchases. In partnership with supervisor, forecasts and recommends financial resource allocations to Campus Recreation administration.
Performs other duties that support the mission of Campus Recreation and the Division of Student Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience. (
Note:
post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.) - Must have a valid Class E Driver's License, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from heights of 35 feet.
