Maintenance Technician – Mars Wrigley (Gainesville, GA)

What do we manufacture? Your favorite GUM brands including Orbit, 5 Gum, Eclipse, Extra, etc.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and performing mechanical repairs on all assigned equipment, including basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems at the component level (e.g., packaging, conveying, processing or facilities equipment, etc.).

12‑Hour Night Shift: 5 pm/6 pm – 5:30 am/6:30 am. This schedule repeats every two weeks.

Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Off Wednesday & Thursday)

Week 2:
Wednesday, Thursday (Off Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
• Required to participate in a stringent onboarding and training program within the first 7 weeks of employment (no vacation time during this period).

• Frequent lifting/carrying/pushing (10‑50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50‑300 lbs).
• Frequent bending, stooping, handling and gripping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours one shift).
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

• Associate or Technical Degree.
• 4+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Possess a fundamental understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic & mechanical schematics/drawings.
• Understand TPM theory and concepts.

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, failed components, and centerline adjustments.
• Conduct Preventative Maintenance (PM) and support operations with equipment set up and changeover.
• Document Work Orders (WOs) and PMs using the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for plant maintenance functions.
• Some fabrication and/or machinist work; trained as required.
• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams, train operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities and participate in breakdown analysis/elimination efforts.
• Adhere to maintenance and repair costs while following maintenance planning & scheduling.
