Utility Clerk

Job Summary

Responsible for performing general maintenance and cleaning duties and maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.

• Gather and return carts/flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance to ensure ready access for club members.
• Support the application of club policies, procedures, and compliance; maintain a safe and positive environment for members and staff.
• Address member concerns, deescalate, and, as appropriate, elevate concerns.
• Work as a team to achieve goals, embrace inclusion and diversity, and maintain a friendly and positive attitude.
• Deliver service excellence through all points of contact and maintain daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate).
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for all club areas, including sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Remove trash or debris from parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club, and ensure carts are well‑stocked, in working order, and clean.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning duties including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extraction, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds and supply areas; restock maintenance/cleaning supplies and keep storage areas neat and organized.
• Operate floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler machines safely and efficiently; follow established safety standards.
• Perform minor routine building repairs and notify management for major repairs.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Ensure regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience preferred.
• May be under 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions; must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age‑restricted areas.

• Mostly moving on hard surfaces.
• Frequent bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, stooping, and climbing ladders/step stools.
• Requires lifting objects up to 30 lbs; moving heavy or awkward objects over 30 lbs with assistance.
• Requires use of a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
• Frequent exposure to company‑authorized cleaning agents; occasional exposure to paint and chemicals.
• Exposure to indoor, outdoor, and extreme temperatures, including freezers and coolers.
