Responsibilities
- Lead Critical Facility Engineers in daily operations and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Maintain focus on assigned tasks while ensuring a strong commitment to safety.
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical facility systems.
- Complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities across multiple technical disciplines.
- Inspect and maintain HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Respond to facility emergencies, environmental issues, and air quality concerns.
- Create, track, and close work requests and work orders; verify completion of assigned work.
- Monitor contractor performance and recommend improvements as needed.
- Provide electrical, mechanical, controls, and water chemistry expertise for data center operations.
- Coordinate with management, contractors, and consultants on construction, commissioning, and system integration projects.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs and system commissioning activities.
- Drive operational efficiency through performance analysis, technology improvements, and cost‑saving initiatives.
- Manage electrical capacity and loading for data center white space and back‑of‑house systems.
- Support maintenance activities during non‑standard hours as required.
- Oversee contractors performing critical maintenance on UPS, generators, switch gear, chillers, and related systems.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to emergency situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years of technical school with an emphasis on mission‑critical operations, industrial manufacturing, or relevant military operations experience in electrical and mechanical systems.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Critical Facilities Engineer or other relevant critical facility infrastructure leadership experience.
- 3–5 years’ experience in data center engineering operations (DCEO), maintenance, and engineering supporting critical facilities operations.
- Demonstrated, working technical knowledge and understanding of critical data center systems, including HVAC, standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.
Demonstrates expertise in managing and maintaining critical facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, while ensuring safety and operational efficiency. Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate with contractors, and support data center engineering operations.
