Senior Accountant

Direct Hire | Salary to $125K + Bonus Eligible

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing organization in Forest Park, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands‑on role with broad financial responsibilities and the opportunity to work closely with operations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations
• Analyze financial results and investigate significant variances
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and accurate financial reporting
• Support internal and external audits and tax preparation
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability
• Maintain and analyze WIP schedules and job costing
• Support budgeting, forecasting, process improvements, and system implementations
• Partner with project managers and leadership to support project profitability and business decisions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is highly preferred
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and analytical skills
• Experience with multi-entity accounting preferred
• Construction, engineering, industrial services, or project‑based accounting experience preferred
• Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, or project financial reporting is a plus
• Base salary up to $125,000
