General Description

Full‑time high‑school teaching position.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Education/Training: Minimum of a Master’s degree in biology, a biological science, biology education, a Medical Doctor degree, Osteopathic Doctor degree, Doctor in Chiropractic degree (accepted to teach Anatomy & Physiology), or Master’s in Biology Education +18 hours of graduate work in the specific biological discipline.
  • Licensure: Valid Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) for grades 9‑12.
  • Endorsement: Science – Biology (Grades 9‑12).
  • Knowledge/Abilities/

    Skills:

    Ability to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instructional

    • Employ diverse instructional techniques.
    • Be creative and innovative with materials.
    • Demonstrate command of content and enthusiasm for teaching.
    • Show knowledge of contemporary research related to content and diverse learners.
