Purpose:
Serve as the instructional leader for a school while managing the operations of a high school.
Summary:
The principal will provide instructional leadership in planning and leading a school. This includes implementing the district's strategies which focus on improved student achievement; building a positive school climate that supports the whole student; leveraging research and data to drive initiatives and instruction; building a high-performing staff and leadership team to achieve the school's vision and goals.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess the following required education, certification, skills, experience and/or qualifications. Employees are responsible for obtaining/retaining the most current statutory and administrative rule requirements for their position.
- Education/Training:
Master's degree in educational administration, or related field from an accredited college or institution. Doctorate preferred. - Licensure:
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or comparable out of state certification. - Endorsement:
General Administrative endorsement, Principal Endorsement or comparable out of state certification. - Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of exemplary experience as a school administrator. Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience.

Skills:
Accomplished, experienced educator and leader. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position. Ability to interpret and make decisions based on data. Create a culture of excellence, professionalism, teamwork and collaboration among the staff, teachers, students and families Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision Use of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. Knowledgeable in the areas of curriculum, instructional methods, and theory. Desire to serve as a team player. Outstanding problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including work as directed outside of the school calendar. Demonstrates an understanding and use of equitable and culturally responsive practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set and enforce rigorous standards for student achievement that are in line with the goals of the Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Ensure the academic program meets or exceeds yearly student outcome goals as defined by the Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Develop organizational goals and objectives consistent with the vision, mission and values of the Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Lead teachers and Instructional team leaders in developing a healthy school culture aligned with the vision, mission and values of the school and the District.
Work with teachers to constantly assess and improve student achievement results. Ensure learning environment and classroom instruction maximizes student learning. Monitor the progress of all students. Ensure use of effective, research-based teaching methodologies and practices. Implement data-driven instructional practices and lead discussions about student performance. Build leadership capacity in others Supervise and mentor all teachers Direct and complete effective teacher and staff evaluations Make fiscally responsible decisions and work on a building level budget Oversee routine facilities maintenance.
Oversee management of school records and resources as necessary. Ensure compliance of local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Attend athletic and activity events Develop and attend monthly parent and community events Develop and maintain an effective school improvement plan aligned to specific goals and outcomes Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school district.

Regionally competitive, based on experience and qualifications: $133,457 $ 190,000 Benefits:
