Special Education Teacher
Full-time high school teaching position. Minimum required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or meeting minimum requirements to be eligible for an Educator License with Stipulations (ESL) Endorsement Licensure:
Valid Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) for grades 9-12 Endorsement:
Learning Behavior Specialist I (Grades 9-12). Desired qualifications include a Master's Degree and/or Doctorate Degree, previous high school teaching experience, certified ESL, High School or Bilingual Certification, Bilingual Endorsement (grades 9-12), ESL Endorsement (grades 9-12), and Bilingual (English/Spanish) Multiple subject area endorsements.
Essential duties and responsibilities include instructional competencies, classroom management competencies, and professionally related competencies. Performance evaluation will be in accordance with provisions of the evaluation of personnel, as outlined in the current Agreement between Proviso Township High Schools District No. 209 Board of Education, Board Policy 5:320. Compensation and benefits are as established by the current Agreement between Board of Education, Proviso Township High Schools District No.
209, Cook County, Illinois and the Proviso Teachers Union, Local 571, AFL-CIO.
