Assistant Manager
Responsible for the execution of all operational, merchandising and managerial functions during the assigned shift. Acts as manager‑on‑duty in the absence of the Store Manager, supervising Sales Associates.
Responsibilities- Drive sales to achieve and exceed the financial plan; evaluate business performance and take proactive steps to improve results.
- Assist in setting and monitoring store goals (individual, daily, weekly); manage store expenses and ensure funds and merchandise are handled per company policy.
- Maintain final report accuracy for store operations, associate development, and financial contribution.
- Plan and execute at least one grassroots event per quarter, market externally, and build relationships with community, churches, and retailers.
- Use social media to drive traffic, recruit contacts, and generate sales opportunities.
- Provide exceptional customer service, zone the store optimally, educate customers and associates on product knowledge, and uphold company values.
- Support the store manager in developing staff, maintaining store cleanliness, executing displays, placing supply orders, and monitoring inventory levels.
- Communicate store issues to the store manager and district manager.
- Recruit, interview, and recommend candidates; coach staff; conduct take‑5s; enforce policies and procedures.
- Manage time for self and associates; maintain accountability to company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years retail experience, 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to apply retail math principles.
- Proficient computer skills and POS system usage.
- High level of initiative, accountability, prioritization, and detail orientation.
- Lift up to 30 lbs; frequent pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.
- Stand for 8–10 hours per day.
- Use ladders and equipment for store maintenance.
- Work a flexible schedule, including holidays, most weekends, and/or late evenings.
- Occasional travel for district meetings, banking duties, or other assignments.
- Daily interaction across all divisions and levels.
