Main
Job Duties:
* Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, outlets, lighting, and equipment rated from low voltage to 480 volts.
* Troubleshoot and repair motors, transformers, panels, disconnects, and lighting systems.
* Install and maintain low-voltage systems, including fire alarms, security systems, intercoms, and building automation controls.
* Maintain and repair school clocks and timing systems to ensure accuracy and synchronization.
* Perform predictive maintenance, inspecting electrical systems and equipment to identify potential failures before they occur
* Replace or repair faulty wiring, switches, fixtures, and components, following safety codes.
* Assist with electrically controlled door hardware such as locks, closers, strikes, and keycard access systems.
* Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in safe working condition.
* Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and local codes.
* Collaborate with other maintenance, HVAC, and construction teams on facility projects.
* Enter school dude for building repairs and closeout when complete
* Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
* Skills and Abilities:
* Knowledge of electrical theory, circuits, and safety procedures.
* Experience with low-voltage and high-voltage (up to 480V) systems.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
* Skilled in using multimeters, hand tools, and power tools.
* Understanding of predictive maintenance techniques (thermography, vibration analysis, etc.) is a plus.
* Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strong safety awareness.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Education and Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred.
* State or local electrician license (Journeyman or equivalent) preferred or required depending on jurisdiction.
* Knowledge of NEC codes, OSHA safety standards, and lockout/tagout procedures.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or on rooftops.
