Carpentry Maintenance Technician
Repair and maintain doors, frames, and hinges throughout school buildings. Sand and refinish doors to remove scratches, paint, or surface damage. Repair and replace door hardware, including locks, handles, hinges, closers, and kick plates. Assist installing new doors, trim, shelving, and cabinetry. Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools. Perform minor repairs to furniture, cabinets, and classroom fixtures.
Keep tools, materials, and work areas clean and organized. Follow safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Help carpenters or maintenance staff with larger repair or remodeling projects. Snow removal. Enter school dude for building repairs and closeout when complete. Snow removal. Remove and replace window and door glass. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
Interest in woodworking, building, or general maintenance. Basic knowledge or willingness to learn how to use tools such as saws, sanders, drills, screwdrivers, and measuring tapes. Attention to detail when sanding, fitting, and aligning doors and hardware. Ability to follow instructions and work safely. Teamwork and good communication with staff and supervisors. High school student or graduate (vocational or technical trade program preferred).
Some experience with hand or power tools is helpful but not required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work. Dependable and willing to learn carpentry and maintenance skills.
