Senior Maintenance Technician
An established food manufacturing company in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join its first-shift maintenance team. This is a senior-level technical role responsible for advanced equipment troubleshooting, improving plant reliability, mentoring maintenance technicians, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. This position offers excellent long-term stability and the opportunity to make a significant impact on plant performance and equipment reliability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
- Identify recurring equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to implement long-term corrective actions.
- Improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work orders within the CMMS system.
- Mentor maintenance technicians by sharing troubleshooting techniques, technical knowledge, and best practices.
- Partner with supervisors, planners, and project teams to prioritize maintenance activities and planned shutdowns.
- Promote safe work practices while maintaining a clean and organized maintenance environment.
- Support additional maintenance projects and plant improvement initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment
- Strong working knowledge of:
- PLC troubleshooting
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Welding
- Plumbing
- Machine tools
- Reading electrical and mechanical schematics
- Experience developing and improving preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while providing technical leadership to other maintenance personnel
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred
- Food manufacturing experience
- Experience utilizing CMMS software
- Previous mentoring or maintenance leadership responsibilities
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or reliability initiatives
