Senior Maintenance Technician

An established food manufacturing company in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join its first-shift maintenance team. This is a senior-level technical role responsible for advanced equipment troubleshooting, improving plant reliability, mentoring maintenance technicians, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. This position offers excellent long-term stability and the opportunity to make a significant impact on plant performance and equipment reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work orders within the CMMS system.
  • Mentor maintenance technicians by sharing troubleshooting techniques, technical knowledge, and best practices.
  • Partner with supervisors, planners, and project teams to prioritize maintenance activities and planned shutdowns.
  • Promote safe work practices while maintaining a clean and organized maintenance environment.
  • Support additional maintenance projects and plant improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • PLC troubleshooting
    • Electrical systems
    • Mechanical systems
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
    • Welding
    • Plumbing
    • Machine tools
    • Reading electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Experience developing and improving preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently while providing technical leadership to other maintenance personnel
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Experience utilizing CMMS software
  • Previous mentoring or maintenance leadership responsibilities
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or reliability initiatives
